A MAN has appeared in court accused of firearms, ammunition and drugs offences.

Matthew James Fray, 26, of Clare Hill, Huddersfield, was arrested by police investigating two incidents in the town on Thursday, November 10.

A parked car was allegedly fired at on Bradford Road, at its junction with Alder Street in Hillhouse, just after 6pm.

An hour later police confronted a man in Clare Hill.

A shot was fired at their car windscreen and one of the officers suffered an eye injury from flying glass.

Fray has been charged with two offences of possessing firearms and ammunition.

He is also accused of possessing cannabis bush with intent to supply.

An application for bail was refused and Fray was remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court next Thursday.

* The investigation into the shooting incidents is continuing.

Police are still hunting two other men.
