A MAN has been in court – after a sharp-eyed Deighton woman spotted men flytipping old tyres.

Antony Webster Simpson was given a community order by Kirklees magistrates after being found guilty of allowing his vehicle to be used for flytipping.

Simpson, 52, of Bradford, was the registered keeper of a truck seen dumping tyres in Sunny View Crescent, Deighton, on April 19, 2011.

The woman made a note of the registration number and reported the incident to the Kirklees Council’s Enforcement Team.

He was sentenced to a Community Order for a period of six months with a curfew requirement of 7pm-7am to run alongside a probation activity requirement for 15 days. He was also made to pay costs of £360.
