A MAN who was told his lung condition was caused by exposure to asbestos did not have an industrial disease, an inquest ruled.

Glynn Pryce Davies, 40, of Victoria Chase, Bailiff Bridge, worked with asbestos as a 16-year-old apprentice electrician.

The Huddersfield inquest was told that his specialists believed asbestos had caused his respiratory problems.

However, pathologist Dr Richard Knights found no evidence and acting coroner Prof Paul Marks recorded a natural causes verdict.

Mr Davies died of respiratory distress syndrome due to pneumonia.

He died at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on December 27 last year, two days after his 40th birthday.
