A MAN accused of threatening to kill a witness in a case has appeared in court.
Kulvinder Singh, 44, was before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The string of charges he faces also includes intimidating two witnesses, harassment, threatening behaviour and criminal damage.
Carole Lawford, prosecuting, said that the original allegations related to Singh’s ex partner Sarah Gledhill.
Singh was alleged to have harassed Miss Gledhill with phone calls and threatened to burn her. He is also accused of turning up at her home in Marsh and scratching words into her door.
Singh, of Grimsby Road in Grimsby, had been given conditional bail to appear at the Huddersfield court on a later date.
Under these conditions he was banned from contacting Miss Gledhill.
But it is alleged that he continued to intimidate her and threatened another witness.
Singh denies all of the charges and faces trial.
Magistrates were asked to send both the original and more serious threats to kill and intimidation matters to Leeds Crown Court.
Singh will first appear at the court on August 29. He was remanded in custody until that date.
