ONE man was taken to hospital after a six-vehicle shunt on the M62 near Huddersfield.
The crash near junction 22 at Ripponden happened on the eastbound carriageway at 7.20am yesterday.
A West Yorkshire police spokeswoman said the man had a back injury and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. He was not badly hurt.
Vehicles involved in the accident included a Ford pickup truck, a Ford Escort, a Mercedes Sprinter van, a Ford Mondeo and a Ford Focus.
Police closed lane three to recover the vehicles, but the road was fully re-opened within an hour.
It caused tailbacks stretching several miles.
