A man was attacked and knocked unconscious by thugs who stole his pizza.

The 24-year-old man, who had been drinking at a pub in Heckmondwike, was beaten up by three men.

The thugs stole his coat, wallet and pizza and left him unconscious in the street.

He was found by a passing motorist who took him to his sister’s home.

The victim suffered facial injuries and is recovering at home.

The attack happened in Beck Lane, Heckmondwike, between 10.45pm and 11.15pm on Sunday.

Det Insp Andy Parr, of Kirklees CID, said the man had been drinking in the Sir Robert Peel pub in High Street before calling for a pizza at the nearby Big Mama’s takeaway.

The gang attacked him in Beck Lane as he made his way home.

Det Insp Parr appealed for witnesses and urged the motorist who helped the man to come forward.

The first attacker is described as a white man, aged 18-20, average to well built, wearing jogging bottoms and a dark coloured coat.

The second man was also white and a similar age but short and thin. He had short, dark brown hair and wore a black coat.

The other man wore a dark hooded coat and jogging bottoms.
