A 36-year-old man has been assaulted on New North Road.
The attack happened near to the junction of Norfolk Close, Huddersfield, by another man.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the assault which occurred at 5.15pm on Tuesday August 2.
The victim received facial injuries which required hospital treatment.
The suspect is described as an Asian man in his 20s.
Det Con Carla Senior of Kirklees CID said; “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around New North Road and Norfolk Close on Tuesday evening and may have witnessed the assault or who has any information to come forward.
“Information can be passed to myself at Huddersfield CID on 101, or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
