A MAN was mugged at knifepoint in Huddersfield.

Now Huddersfield detectives are appealing for witnesses to the robbery that took place in Springwood, Huddersfield on February 23.

It was around 12.15am that a 34-year- old Asian man was walking along Bankfield Road and up steps leading to Springwood Junior School when, at the top of the steps, he was approached from behind by two men.

One of the men had a knife and the second grabbed the 34-year old, pushing him against some railings.

The two suspects demanded that the victim give them, 'everything you've got.'

When the victim said he did not have anything, he was punched several times and then had his pockets searched and his wallet stolen.

Both suspects then ran away, towards Springwood Junior School.

The suspects are described as an Asian and an Afro-Caribbean man in their mid 20s and around 5ft 7ins tall. Both were of slim build, had short dark hair and were wearing all dark clothing.

The Afro-Caribbean man was the suspect who was armed with the knife.
