A man fell from a third floor window after a fight at a party.

Detectives have arrested a 19-year-old man after a 26-year-old man was allegedly ejected out of window at flats in Dewsbury.

The man is thought to have fallen more than 25ft onto stone paving following a row at premises on Cemetery Road.

The incident at about 7.40am on Saturday has left the victim with serious head injuries.

He is currently sedated having had surgery at Leeds General Infirmary.

Detectives believe the nasty incident occurred during a party at the property.

Det Insp Andy Parr, of Kirklees CID, said: “We believe there has been an altercation at the party and the victim has ended up going out the third floor window.

“We need to speak to everybody who was at that party.

“There may have been people there that we don’t know about or who don’t know about this.

“The victim is lucky to be alive as he just missed landing on a pile of disused car axles.

“He was taken to hospital with significant injuries and has had surgery for a serious head injury.”
