A MAN who fell in woodland was rescued by members of Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team.

The rescue team was called in to help Yorkshire Ambulance Service treat a man in Beaumont Park yesterday afternoon.

An ambulance crew was having difficulty getting the man out of the uneven woodland to the waiting ambulance so the rescuers were called in and used a mountain rescue stretcher and get him to safety.

The man had cuts, bruises and a suspected spinal injury.
