A MAN was attacked in Lockwood.

Now police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which happened in Yew Green Road on Saturday.

It was about 3.15am that a 26-year old man was walking along the road when he was approached by two men.

The suspects and the victim started to have a friendly chat and agreed to order a taxi together.

One of the suspects used the victim's phone to call the cab, but then refused to return it. The second suspect then assaulted the victim and demanded cash.

The victim handed over around £13 that he had in his pockets and the suspects walked off towards Crosland Moor with the cash and the phone.

The suspects were two white men around 5'6" to 5'9" tall. One was in his 40s, stocky and wearing a blue baseball cap and blue jacket.

The second was in his early 20s, slim, with short mousy blond hair. He was wearing a light coloured or white jacket.
