A man was robbed at knifepoint in a Huddersfield club.

He had gold jewellery stolen from him when he was attacked in Kewz bar in Queen Street shortly after 5am on Sunday.

The 28-year-old victim was accosted as he climbed down a staircase from the first-floor bar. Police said two men, one armed with a knife, blocked his way.

Det Insp George Bardell, of Huddersfield CID, said: “One of them grabbed him in a headlock and he was unable to get free.

“He had a gold chain ripped from his neck and a bracelet pulled off his wrist.

“As that happened he also lost his watch and that, too, may have been stolen”.

One of the attackers as a mixed race man with a full beard, black hair and a white top.

The second was an African-Caribbean man with a beard and moustache, short dark hair and a blue or grey jumper.

Police urged anyone with information to contact them via 101.
