A MAN'S face was slashed by attackers as he walked home alone.

The 19-year-old man suffered a wound from an ear to his nose in the attack, which police described as "nasty."

He was attacked in Kirkburton last Saturday night - but details have only just emerged. He left the Crown pub at about 10.30pm and moments later became involved in a row with three men in a car.

They drove off and he returned to the pub for another drink.

He set off to walk home shortly before 11.30pm and when he reached the junction of Turnshaw Road and Turnshaw Avenue, he was confronted by the men in the car again. This time one got out and attacked him.

When he fought back, the other two got out and while the victim was held down, one used a sharp instrument to slash his face. The wound needed several stitches.

The attackers were all Asian men in their late teens or early 20s and were in a black Honda Accord car.

Det Con Steve Shaw, of Huddersfield CID, said: "This was a very nasty wounding and the attackers would have been in the Kirkburton area for around an hour.

"We need to speak to anyone who saw the initial argument outside the Crown pub or the attack in the street later on."
