A man who hurled racist abuse at police officers has been sent to jail.

Kirklees Magistrates Court was told that 28-year-old Adeel Nafees also spat at them and said he would rape their daughters in a drunken diatribe which he began outside a house on Lavender Croft in Batley.

Nafees, of Charnwood Bank in Batley, was approached by police on July 7, who had received calls that he was throwing stones at a window.

Charlotte Alport, prosecuting, said that officers noticed his speech was slurred and that he smelled of alcohol.

She added: “He was abusive. He swore at them despite being asked to calm down and spat in the direction of a Pc.

“He was arrested but in the police van called them black and white b******s and spat at another Pc.

“He also threatened to rape their daughters.”
