A man was stabbed in a fracas at a Huddersfield bar.

He was taken to hospital with stab wounds after the altercation in Kewz Bar in Queen Street.

The attack happened about 4.30am on Saturday but police have just released details.

Detectives in Huddersfield are now appealing for witnesses.

The male victim was pushed by another man and an altercation broke out between the victim and a few men. The incident continued at the back of the bar in the beer garden.

The victim suffered stab wounds to the left hand side of his body, near to his ribs. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The first suspect is described as a black male and the second suspect is described as an Asian male.

Det Con Annette Lane, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was at Kewz Bar on Saturday night and witnessed the incident which left the victim needing hospital treatment.”

The incident comes less than three weeks after a man was injured when a gun was fired inside the club. Two men have been charged in connection with that incident.
