A DRIVER was threatened with a knife and forced to handover cash in a terrifying car robbery.
The nasty incident happened on Boxing Day between 6.30pm and 7pm in the lower Tesco car park off Viaduct Street.
The male driver, who was parked in his BMW 525, was talking to friends in the car park when he was approached by two men.
After asking for a cigarettes, one of them reached in and took the keys from the ignition.
They then demanded cash in return for the keys and took the victim to a cash machine before showing him a knife.
But despite the driver handing over cash, they still made off in the BMW.
The first suspect is described as in his late 20s, 6ft tall, of slim build and white. He had stubble on his face, brown hair and was wearing a baby blue tracksuit top made from shiny material.
Part of the sleeves had white on.
He was also wearing dark jeans and black trainers and had a hat on and the hood up. He spoke with a local accent.
The second man is said to be of mixed race, about 5ft 9in to 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build.
He also had stubble on his face and pock type marks on both of his cheeks. He is thought to be aged around 30 and was wearing a black shiny waist length puffy type jacket and a white and black patterned scarf tucked into his jacket.
His jeans were dark grey or black coloured and he had light coloured trainers on. He was dirty in appearance and spoke with a local accent with a slight Liverpudlian twang.
