Detectives are appealing for help after an unprovoked attack by four men on a 26-year-old man walking home from the town centre.

The incident occurred on Saturday, April 9, at 10.45pm, as the 26-year-old man walked home from Huddersfield town centre along Park Drive South.

As he reached the junction of Gledholt Road, he was approached by four men.

They kicked him on his leg and demanded his wallet and back pack.

He handed over the items and the suspects ran off into the town centre.

All four of them are described as 5ft 10”, medium build and around 22-years-old with Yorkshire accents.

Three of them were wearing dark-coloured clothing with their hoods up, obscuring their faces. The other man was also wearing dark-coloured clothing and had brown hair with a fringe that covered some of his forehead.

Det Con Shaun Topham, of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on this man by four men who were clearly attacking as a group.

“Thankfully on this occasion, the victim received only minor injuries.

“Anyone who has any information, or saw these four men in the area last weekend are asked to contact me via 101 quoting reference 13160152404 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
