A MAN and woman have appeared in court charged with robbery.

Tyrone Letremy, 27, and Amanda Gohsh, 34, were before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

Both are charged with robbing a man of his phone in Halifax Old Road in Birkby on Sunday night.

Vanessa Schofield, prosecuting, said that the victim was approached from behind by a male and female while he was walking down the road after midnight .

She said: “The male grabbed him and placed his hands over his head and put an object against his neck.

“She punched him in the face and searched his trouser pockets.”

Neither Letremy nor Gohsh entered a plea.

Their case will be committed to Leeds Crown Court. A plea and case management hearing will be held on August 29.

Letremy, of Trinity Street in Greenhead, was remanded in custody.

Gohsh, of Corby Street in Fartown, was released on conditional bail.
