TWO Marsden men were refused bail over an attack in which a man was alleged to have been left unconscious in the snow.

Sean Annandale, 20, of Woods Terrace, and Vaughan Longmore, 18, of Dirker Avenue, are charged with attacking two men, one in his 50s and the other aged 31.

They are both charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Marsden on January 20.

A previous hearing was told that the alleged victims had been out drinking in the village.

One of the men had been hospitalised as a result of his injuries which were described as “serious.”

Leeds Crown Court was told that both men face trial over another alleged assault, at a Marsden takeaway last September.

That trial is due to be held at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on April 16.

The Recorder of Leeds Peter Collier QC refused an application for bail and both men were remanded in custody.

The latest cases were adjourned for a plea and case management hearing on April 8 and a trial date was set for June 25.
