A HISTORY exhibition is taking place later this month.

Marsden History Group has organised the display of photos, maps and original documents.

The Marsden Past exhibition takes place at Marsden Junior School during the half-term break.

There will be maps of Marsden over the centuries, wills and inventories, the history of Marsden Mechanics and the story of the town’s local government.

There will also be displays on socialism, the mills and Second World War plane wrecks.

Organiser Judi Thorpe said: “This huge exhibition shows many aspects of the life of the village and the changes that have taken place. It also shows that Marsden was always a dynamic community made up of independent individuals who like to do things in their own time and manner.”

Admission is free to the exhibition which runs from 1pm to 5pm on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31. The exhibition will also be open on Sunday, June 1 from 1pm to 4.30pm.
