A BUILDER was stuck on a roof for two hours wondering how to get down.

The 40-year-old had been working on the roof of a property on Adelphi Street in the Marsh area on Saturday afternoon.

Although he had a ladder to the roof’s edge, he was working at the ridge.

As the tiles became damp, he was unable to get down.

He spent two hours in the cold before calling a crew out from West Yorkshire Fire Service.

Huddersfield watch commander Andy Blackburn said: “When he tried to get down the tiles had become slippy so he was stuck.

“If he had tried any more he could have slipped all the way down.

“We checked if he needed any first aid, but I think he was just relieved to be rescued,” added watch commander Blackburn.
