Two men appeared in court this morning charged with a firearms offence in connection with a gun being fired at a Huddersfield nightclub.
The incident occurred at the Kewz Bar, Queen Street, in the early hours of Sunday, January 31.
Following a row a firearm was allegedly discharged at the club’s ceiling, causing debris to fall and cause injury to a man inside the club.
Wayne Bucknor, 34, of Farrar Drive, Mirfield, faces four charges including possession of a firearm, assault on a male occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a firearm when prohibited for five years and possession of a weapon for the discharge of gas/liquid.
He was remanded in custody at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court by District Judge Michael Fanning and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on March 14.
Martin Harriott, 34, of Staynton Crescent, Bradley, was charged with possession of a firearm, assault, possession of a Class A drug, (cocaine), and two charges relating to possession of cannabis.
He was also remanded in custody and will also appear at Leeds Crown Court on March 14.
The house was sealed off on Sunday as part of an ongoing police investigation.
The house had a police guard both at the front and back all day today.
The inquiry was being led by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team that investigates serious crime.
