A MASKED gunman fled with cash after raiding a Huddersfield betting shop.

He walked into the Jack Pearson shop on Sheepridge Road, Sheepridge, at 3.30pm yesterday while it was busy with customers.

He pointed a gun at the two men behind the counter and ordered them to open the door so he could get to the till.

The men, aged 57 and 52, let him in and the robber stole cash, stuffed it in his pocket and fled.

He was described as African-Caribbean, aged 23 or 24, 5ft 10in tall and slim. He wore a black balaclava and dark clothes.

Pc Dave McSweeney, of Huddersfield police, said: "If anyone knows who he is they should contact us immediately.

"Was he hanging around outside the office without his mask on before the raid and did he escape on foot or in a car afterwards?" asked Pc McSweeney.
