A GANG of masked men terrorised a Huddersfield woman – after going to the wrong house looking for drugs.

The 57-year-old woman was stunned when the men burst into her home in Manse Drive, Cowlersley, demanding drugs.

But not as stunned as the man in his 20s living a few doors away – arrested by police who found a drugs factory at his house.

It is thought the men had picked the wrong house.

Police used the West Yorkshire force helicopter to search for the masked men after the incident on Wednesday evening.

A spokesman said: “Police were called at 6.46pm on Wednesday to reports of a burglary at an address on Manse Drive, Cowlersley.

“It was reported that three masked men had broken into a woman’s house demanding drugs. They soon made off when none were discovered.

“When officers attended, a strong smell of cannabis was traced to another address a few doors down. A suspected cannabis factory was discovered and a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of cannabis production.”

She said the shaken woman was checked over by ambulance paramedics after the incident.

Enquiries are continuing to trace the men who broke into her home.
