THE Mayor of Kirklees Clr Margaret Fearnley is to host a charity dinner to raise funds to support the North Pakistan and Kashmir earthquake appeal.
The dinner at the Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield will be held on November 30 in the English Partnership Suite, 7.30 pm for 8pm.
Tickets are £20 per head and are available at Huddersfield Tourist Information Centre and Dewsbury Town Hall information point.
It is proposed that during the evening there will be a film-show of the area devastated by the disaster, and the on-going relief effort, and also a charity auction.
Clr Fearnley said: "Many people and communities in Kirklees have family connections with the regions affected by the devastation caused by the earthquake.
"There is a huge worldwide appeal effort, as well as many local and regional events and initiatives to raise funds and badly needed commodities such as food, clothing, blankets and other supplies.
"The charity dinner has a 360 capacity, and I hope that local people in Kirklees will want to support it."
The council has also made arrangements for employees to donate the disaster appeal through the council's payroll system.
