THE mystery of the missing Marsden maypole has been solved.
After reading Philip Thompson's desperate plea for help in finding the maypole it has turned up at the Quakers Meeting House in Paddock.
Rehearsals for next year's Cuckoo Festival had run into trouble and maypole dancers were being forced to prepare by dancing round a traffic cone.
Philip said : "We got a call from someone at the meeting house saying they had it. We are going to pick it up as soon as possible.
"The dancers will be pleased that they will be able to practise using the real thing."
