A TEACHER is recovering in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after contracting measles.

The young woman teaches at Shepley First School and is one of four people in Huddersfield believed to have contracted measles.

Health officials, who are investigating the outbreak, declined to reveal details about the teacher or the affected children who have been treated by local doctors.

But they stressed that there was no reason for parents to panic and urged people with any concerns to either contact their own GP or the NHS Direct helpline on 0845 46 47.
