A SERIES of roadshows are being held in Huddersfield to encourage people to ask questions about their medicines.

A prescribing team will be hitting supermarkets across the town next week to offer shoppers advice and information about medication.

The drive comes after a recent survey showed how 75% of the population had taken prescribed drugs in the last year.

But 40% claimed they had not been as involved as they would have liked in deciding the best medicine for them.

And 44% of those offered a new medicine felt they were not given enough information about other treatments available.

The aim of the awareness week is to encourage more people to ask questions about their medicines.

There will also be information about using antibiotics.

Teams from Huddersfield Central and South Huddersfield Primary Care Trusts will be at the following venues:

* Monday, at Morrisons, Meltham.

* Tuesday, at Tesco, Viaduct Street, Huddersfield.

* Thursday, at Kwik Save, Scar Lane, Milnsbridge.

* Friday, at the Co-op, Market Street, Holmfirth.

* Wednesday, November 16 at Sainsbury's, Shore Head, Huddersfield.
