A woman has appeared in court charged with VAT fraud.

Danielle Fisher, of Green Lane in Meltham, was before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

She denies a charge of knowingly being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of Value Added Tax between August 17 and November 21 2014.

The charges relate to the 29-year-old’s role as secretary at Brammah Group Ltd and alleged fraudulent claims for VAT worth more than £11,000.

District Judge Michael Fanning sent her case to Leeds Crown Court.

Fisher will first appear there on June 30.
