THE 1973 Lofthouse pit disaster, when seven miners were killed by a flood, will be remembered at the National Coal Mining Museum near Grange Moor.

Next Thursday a short video will be shown, followed by a talk from Tony Banks, who was underground on the night of the tragedy.

Refreshments are available from 7pm and the film starts at 7.30pm.

Entrance is free, but places have to be booked on 01924 848806.
