A charity and coffee shop are urging people to eat cake to raise money.

Merrie England Coffee Shop and Marie Cure terminal cancer care have joined forces to encourage people to organise their own charity tea parties, from office bake sales to family garden parties.

Those interested can get information from one of the chain’s shops.

Katie Grinter, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie said: “It’s easy to support Marie Curie with a tea party and it really is up to you how you decide to join in. We want people in Huddersfield to tell us all about their tea-riffic plans. Every pound raised will enable us to help even more people living with a terminal illness which includes those we support directly in Huddersfield.
