A BAPTIST minister has scored a hat-trick by appearing on his third TV quiz show.
The Rev Mike Smith, of Golcar Baptist Church, has taken part in Mastermind, the intimidating show hosted by John Humphrys.
Mr Smith, 63, recorded the show about a month ago at Granada Studios in Manchester.
He has previously appeared on The Weakest Link and Fifteen to One. He came second in both.
Mr Smith cannot say whether he was victorious on Mastermind until it is screened in the autumn.
But he said he enjoyed the experience.
"It was great fun. There's always the pressure in terms of time, but I can blank things out reasonably well," he added.
"Unlike The Weakest Link, there was a studio audience for Mastermind, which made things a bit different."
Mr Smith chose the Dark Ages of Western Europe between 400 and 800 AD as his specialist subject.
"It's about what the end of the Roman Empire was like, when barbarians were running around," he said.
