VILLAGE toilets have finally reopened after two years.

The public convenience in Milnsbridge was refurbished in 2007 – only to be vandalised within three days.

Kirklees Council has now reopened the toilets.

Golcar Lib Dem Clr Christine Iredale has welcomed the work.

She said: “The toilets have been refurbished and repainted, which I’m sure will be a convenience to people in Milnsbridge.

“They were refurbished a few years ago and then vandalised within three days. The sink and toilet bowl were damaged.

“The toilets had to close but, thanks to a lot of hard work from Roger Wilson at Kirklees Council, we’ve managed to get them open again.”

The toilets were reopened last month.
