POSTMEN have agreed to resume deliveries to the troubled Berry Brow flats - but only if escorted by a minder.

Door-to-door mail drops stopped to Holme Park Court and Bishops Court for a week after a tenant hurled a razor at a postman last month.

Earlier incidents saw postal workers hit by missiles including car parts and tin cans.

Following talks with Kirklees Council, Royal Mail agreed to restart the rounds on Wednesday.

Kirklees Council have laid on an extra security guard to accompany post staff.

A spokeswoman for Royal Mail said: "We will be writing to all residents to outline what has happened and what will happen in the future if the problem should reoccur and our staff feel it unsafe to continue with their delivery."
