A GOVERNMENT Minister was today taking part in a Big Conversation with people in Elland.
Junior minister Yvette Cooper MP was discussing children's issues and hearing local ideas on the direction of future Labour Party policy at the event at the Wesley Centre, Eastgate.
She was joined by Calder Valley Labour MP Chris McCafferty, representatives from community groups and local residents, including parents.
The event was focusing on early years provision, child protection and child poverty.
The meeting was examining what the Government had done that has worked and what problems still existed.
The Big Conversation is an opportunity for people and interested groups to share their ideas with their MP, who passes on their comments to Labour policy-makers.
