MIRFIELD residents are being asked where new grit bins should be sited in the town.

Mirfield area committee is able to use its devolved budget to fund the purchase and maintenance of grit bins and it has made the open invitation to residents when it met on Monday.

Clr Vivien Lees-Hamilton said: “After the heavy wintry weather earlier this year lots of people became very aware of where grit bins might be lacking near to their homes and on the highways.

“I and the other area committee members extend an open invitation to residents to come forward and let us know where they think further grit bins might be needed”.
