A MIRFIELD mother-of-two who stole from her work has been told she could be jailed for up to 18 months if she fails to pay back almost £70,000.

Lisa Cullen, 35, of St Paul’s Road, was given a suspended prison sentence and ordered to do 300 hours unpaid work for the community in June after she admitted stealing around £115,000 from Bradford-based World Textile Publications where she worked as an accounts manager. When she was sentenced in June Bradford Crown Court heard that Cullen spent some of the money on clothes, meals out and hair appointments.

She was brought back to the crown court for a judge to rule in a confiscation hearing.

Recorder Mark Bury told her that she would have to pay back around £28,000 which had been found in her bank accounts.

Cullen's realisable assets were said to amount to £68,509.34, including the money in the accounts, so she will have to find another £40,000 within the next six months or face the 18-month prison sentence in default.

Recorder Bury was told that Cullen may have to sell property to meet the confiscation order.
