A FIRST class performance has helped a Mirfield post office win a prestigious prize.
The branch at Huddersfield Road was among the winners in The Co-operative Group’s Post Office of the Year Awards.
The Co-op runs about 250 post offices in its food stores across the UK.
And Mirfield Post Office was recognised for the best sales record in the category for special deliveries at the awards held in Birmingham.
Post office branch manager Linda Rhodes, said: “It was fabulous.
“It was great to have the whole team’s hard work recognised – it’s very encouraging.
“We’re a busy Post Office with some great, regular customers, and we’ve now got the awards on display for everyone to see”.
