MOUNTAIN rescue teams have found the body of a missing Calderdale man.
They had been searching for a 70-year-old man missing on Snowdon and located a body.
It is the fourth death on Snowdon in the last 10 days.
The man, thought to be from Halifax, was last seen on Tuesday and an RAF helicopter and mountain rescue teams have been involved in the search.
The helicopter rescued two ice climbers stranded in Snowdonia early yesterday, just days after police urged inexperienced walkers to stay away.
In a statement North Wales Police said: “The body is believed to be that of the 70-year-old man from the Halifax area who was reported missing, however North Wales Police are still awaiting formal identification.
“The search involved North Wales Police and the force helicopter, mountain rescue teams from Llanberis, Ogwen and Aberglaslyn and the RAF helicopter after the alarm was raised shortly after 10am yesterday.”
