BEAUTIES with dreams of a catwalk career could make them come true by entering the Huddersfield heat of a national contest.

Huddersfield Model Girl 2006 will be held at The George Hotel on Sunday.

Girls in the competition will model evening wear during a gala night which starts at 7.30pm.

The winner of the heat will receive a casting contact, a variety of prizes and the chance to represent Huddersfield in the grand final of UK Model Girl this year.

Last year's national competition was won by Holmfirth student Olga Baeva.

Olga, 18, was studying at Huddersfield New College, after moving to the area from Siberia in 2002.

She battled it out with 40 other girls for the national title and won a casting contract with a Liverpool modelling agency, got a photographic portfolio done and received over £300 worth of beauty products.

The UK Model Girl competition raises money for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity each year.

The money is used for research into breast cancer and treatments.

Entry to the competition is free, but girls have to be over 14.

Anyone under 18 needs parental permission to compete.
