No 24-hour off-licence

PLANS for a 24-hour off-licence in Moldgreen have been dropped. Khalid Mahmood had applied for permission to open the shop on Wakefield Road. Councillors on the Licensing Panel had been due to hear the application yesterday but the application was not heard.Mr Mahmood wanted to turn a disused shop into a 24-hour off-licence. But residents had objected to the application, saying it would bring extra traffic and that the area did not need a 24-hour store. But the application was withdrawn ahead of yesterday’s meeting.
