A 24-year-old driver had to be cut free from his vehicle after he lost control at a notorious bend between Berry Brow and Honley.

The crash happened at around 1.30am this morning (Mon) in Woodhead Road close to the junction with Magdale, when the Peugeot 307 hit the central bollards and spun out of control.

No other vehicles were involved.

Fire crews from Huddersfield were called to the scene and helped release the driver who was suffering from suspected spinal injuries. He was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary along with a 21-year-old male passenger who was suffering from minor injuries.
