COMMUNITY-MINDED youngsters from Moor End Technology College have won a national award.

They won the innovation category in the Change it Awards in London organised to recognise young people who have changed and improved their community in some way.

Moor End students launched a campaign to transform the school library and make it a more vibrant learning environment.

They won £750 after attending the finals at the Ministry of Sound in London and presenting their project in a “Dragon’s Den” style event.

The project will involve the community to donate time and resources to improve and re-design the school library to provide a chill-out space for learning and relaxing.

The students pictured led the campaign on behalf of 'Student Voice' in the school.
