A MOPED rider fell ill hours after an accident and is now in hospital following emergency surgery.

At first the 20-year-old from Brighouse seemed okay after his bike was in collision with a white Vauxhall Astra taxi on Leeds Road outside the McDonald’s restaurant at 8.12pm on Friday. But he later began to feel unwell and surgeons had to remove his spleen. The rider is at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he is recovering. Anyone who saw the collision is urged to contact Pc Phil Shaw at Huddersfield traffic police on 01484 436847.
