TWO Chinese restaurants may soon be opening in Huddersfield town centre.
Kirklees Council has already approved plans for one in King Street.
And an application has been submitted to licensing magistrates for a drinks licence for a Chinese buffet-style restaurant in John William Street.
The King Street
plans include a large restaurant on two levels in refurbished premises near the junction with Cross Church Street.
The applicant, Fan Van, which has agents in Harrogate, has five years to implement the permission.
The second plan has come from Ms Susan Chu, of Little Benton, near Newcastle upon Tyne.
She has applied for a provisional drinks licence for units one and two, 70 to 76 John William Street.
Planning permission for a Jumbo restaurant in John William Street prem- ises once used as a furniture shop has already been granted.
A spokeswoman for Newcastle solicitors Samuel Phillips said the application had been adjourned until April 1.
Kirklees planners say the restaurants will provide "another modern choice for eating out".
