A STUNNING mosaic will take pride of place in Beaumont Park.
Year 10 art and design students from Moor End Technology College are taking part in the project with artist Alan Pergusey.
The college is taking part in an ongoing project to restore the park to its former glory and this project is in response to a design brief set by the Friends of Beaumont Park.
The emphasis is on the natural beauty of the park, such as the trees, flowers and wildlife.
Several site visits have been held and Friends chairman Peter Turner and treasurer Mary Kenworthy are frequent visitors to school.
The mosaic will be the first feature that visitors will see when they enter the park at the corner of Butternab Road and Beaumont Park Road.
It is a further example of the collaborative work students at Moor End do with the park volunteers.
Year nine students are also working on a design brief to publicise the proposed bandstand for the park and the whole year group are involved in a community gardening project there.
