A DISTRAUGHT mother has attacked heartless drivers who left her injured daughter lying in agony in the road after an accident.

Keziah Garnett, 12, had to have both her arms put in plaster after she clipped a kerb and was thrown from her bicycle while riding on Cowlersley Lane, Cowlersley.

The keen basketball player, who was due to try out for the West Yorkshire team this weekend, broke one arm and dented a bone in the other.

She also suffered bruises and grazing, but mum Briony, of nearby Manse Drive, said her cries for help were ignored.

Ms Garnett, 36, added: "She was hysterical in the middle of the road, but they all just drove round her. She thought she was going to die.

"Not one person stopped.

"I heard her scream from my back garden about 100 yards away. She sounded in agony.

"It was obvious she was hurt, I can't believe they just ignored her. People like that are heartless, they're cruel."

Keziah, who had to have surgery after the incident last Saturday, was released from hospital the day after.

Ms Garnett said her daughter had vowed never to get back on a bike.

She added: "She was very confident before and really sporty, but this has given her a big knock. She can't even talk about it.

"I just can't believe how callous some people are. I was devastated by the whole thing."
