DEWSBURY MP Shahid Malik rolled his sleeves up to raise money for the Tickled Pink appeal.

The MP was on hand to pack bags for customers at Dewsbury’s Asda store and was joined by staff from his office and students and teachers from Earlsheaton Technology College.

Local councillors Eric Firth and Paul Kane were also present to lend a hand to shoppers.

Mr Malik said that he was more than happy to help raise funds for such an important charity: “Cancer has touched most families, including my own, and it is estimated that around 172,000 women in the UK are currently living with a breast cancer diagnosis. Anything that we can do to raise awareness and help sufferers is a worthwhile exercise.”

Last year the MP threw his weight behind the Breast Cancer Campaign by supporting an Early Day Motion in Parliament.
