HUDDERSFIELD MP Barry Sheerman opened a new shop run by students at Kirklees College, Huddersfield, yesterday.

The store called Inspirations was opened by pupils on the vocational access course as part of their BTEC Skills for Working Life qualification.

It will sell handmade craft products – some made by students – as well as decorative flower pots, plant arrangements and candles.

Course tutor Clare Johnson said: “This project is all about giving our learners real world work experience.

“It improves their team working, customer service and numeracy skills as well as building self-confidence.”
