SHADOW minister Alistair Burt toured Kirklees to see improvements made by the council since May 2006.

The Conservative MP visited Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Batley town centres.

The representative for North East Bedfordshire stopped at Primrose Hill eco-housing project and Thornhill Road, Lindley, to discuss investment in roads with councillors Martyn Bolt and Tony Brice.

Mr Burt also visited Crosland Moor to discuss Warmzone heating solutions with residents.

Other stops included Batley Town Hall and Gomersal for a chat with pensioners who have benefited from Kirklees’ council tax pensioner discount scheme.
